Community Care Hub Australia can provide personalised Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation services for people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. We offer safe, inclusive and engaging SIL accommodation across Greater Western Sydney and tailor every aspect of your support to your needs, preferences and goals.
Supported independent living is a shared living experience for people with a disability who have SIL funding in their NDIS plan. It includes help or supervision with daily tasks, like personal care or cooking meals. It helps you live independently whilst building your life skills.
SIL is best for people with higher support needs who require assistance at home throughout the day or 24/7. You can get supported independent living if you live with other NDIS participants or on your own, but other SIL accommodations, home and living supports may suit you better.
It’s important to note that SIL housing funding can’t be used for rent or other day-to-day expenses, like groceries or everyday bills. SIL is specifically designed to fund the support you receive in your home, not the cost of the home itself.
At Community Care Hub Australia, we make sure your supported independent living experience is shaped around you, from daily routines and staff pairings to activity planning and community access. Our homes are designed to be more than functional; they’re inclusive, welcoming and suited to your lifestyle.
SIL housing and SIL accommodation services are flexible, person-centred and designed to suit your needs. Support may include:
With Community Care Hub Australia, SIL is a pathway to greater independence, real connection and a life lived your way.
To access supported independent living, you’ll need SIL funding in your NDIS plan. This is usually for those with higher support needs requiring regular help at home. Eligibility depends on your functional capacity, goals and current support.
We work closely with participants, families and support coordinators to prepare documentation and goals for NDIS planning or review. If your plan includes support coordination, your coordinator can assist with finding a provider and submitting your Roster of Care. Our team ensures the process is smooth, supportive and tailored to your daily needs.
To request SIL, you must share your living goals, daily support needs and professional reports. The NDIS uses this to decide if SIL is the right support for you. More details are available in the NDIS Easy Read Information Pack for participants and families.
At Community Care Hub Australia, SIL housing means more than just support with daily tasks. We create welcoming homes where participants feel safe, respected and empowered. Our skilled staff help you build routines and a lifestyle aligned with your goals.
We’ll guide your Roster of Care to match your NDIS plan and everyday needs. With supported independent living, you’ll get help at home and gain the tools to live with freedom and purpose.
